Crossover components
- Resistors : Superimposed metal film or metal oxide. Their impedance is purely resistive for all audible frequencies. They are not inductive as are the very affordable wire-wound resistors.
- Capacitors : Made with aluminized metal polypropylene. These capacitors were originally designed for the European Space Agency in order to support high frequency impulse currants. We chose these French-made capacitors due to their good transient response. This choice can be heard in very dynamic musical crescendos. Below are a few specs that demonstrate the superiority of these capacitors.
- Dielectric absorption factor: <0.05% @ 20°C.
- Dissipation factor: < 0.0005
- Seld inductance: < 12 nH with 6mm of broche.
- Insulation resistance: > 100,000 MΩ @ 20°C
- Inductors : In order to obtain the best possible results, we use only air-core inductors. These do not saturate thus they maintain their characteristics at any power level. We use a bigger gauge (AWG 14) than needed to maintain the advantages of the amplifier’s damping factor.
This type of wire, which consists of 7 isolated copper wires, reduces loss due to skin effect.
Combining these advantages, we obtain solid & deep bass response, which leaves no one indifferent!
